A case in point is the journey from sailmakers, to industrial halls that later were mounted with solar panels thus entering the expanding market of renewable energy.

Experience in canvas evolves into PVC industry halls (Rubbhall).W. Giertsen introduces relocatable buildings and shelters, also to export and aid & relief market. Contracts secured with UN and NGOs to aid & relief sector in Eastern Africa. Entrance in the offshore and oil & gas market

Tunnel Sealing Solutions

Launch of solutions for water and frost sealing of tunnels and caves. 1985-1990

Wilhelm Giertsen, who has led the group since 1993, steps down as Group CEO. Fran Mohn takes over and becomes part-owner of the group. Wilhelm Giertsen continues as Group Chairman and Managing Director of W. Giertsen Energy Solutions.
